3. Description of Services

The Bible Society of Moldova began its organizational activity as early as 1826. As a national organization, it was established on May 14, 1990, with the participation of His Eminence Vladimir, Metropolitan of Chișinău and All Moldova, as well as representatives of Orthodox and Protestant Christian denominations and the United Bible Societies. On February 8, 1991, the Bible Society was registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova.

In its mission of spiritual development and the publication of the Holy Scriptures, the Bible Society collaborates with mass media and various Christian and secular organizations whose objectives do not contradict the Society’s Statute. The Society’s work focuses on implementing publishing programs and collecting financial resources for these programs. The Society fulfills its mission while respecting all denominations, without favoring or defending the interests of any of them and without accepting ecumenism. It provides support to churches and partner organizations without replacing their mission.

The Bible Society operates on the basis of the SBM Statute and in accordance with the Constitution and legislation of the Republic of Moldova. The SBM is an important center for the editing, printing, and distribution of the Holy Scriptures and interdenominational spiritual literature in the Republic of Moldova.
