The initiative of cooperating with the Orthodox community, has been a long awaited project, and we consider it a ramp to strengthen church relations between the Bible Society of Moldova and the Orthodox Church, and to motivate the Orthodox population to read the Bible. This project is a start-up for building a trusting and long-term relationship with the Orthodox community, which will allow as to collaborate with Orthodox priests, to popularize the Word of God amongs the Orthodox population and to support a greater Bible engagement in Moldova.
According to the last statistics, Orthodox believers represent 93 % of Moldova's population, however few of them have a Bible - some do not afford it, others do not even know from where to buy it, and if they have it, not many understand it. With this project we aim to collaborate with the Orthodox churches, to organize events, to visit Orthodox communities, to participate at conferences and to spread the message of God in as many ways possible in order to motivate people to read the Bible. Our aim is to reach at least 200 000 Orthodox believers and to have a meaningful impact in their lives, to encourage them to discover more about a life lived with God and to have a personal relationship with Him. It is also a great opportunity for Orthodox priests to be involved in the lives of their community, to guide them, to advocate for Bible engagement and to bring more happiness and peace in people's minds and hearts.
